The Constitution is being ignored by the Nevada Legislature. While this 80th Session of the Nevada Legislature pushes several unconstitutional bills, their Assembly Education Committee is refusing to have a hearing on Assembly Bill 99 [https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/80th2019/Bill/6100/Overview], to require instruction on the founding principles enshrined in our Constitution, Federalist Papers, and more.
I thank my friend, Nevada Assemblyman Jim Wheeler for carrying this bill that is unfortunately being ignored by the Assembly Education Chairman.
PLEASE TAKE URGENT ACTION: This bill dies April 12th if not passed out of its first committee. They must hold a hearing VERY soon!
One or more of the steps below as you are able would be great.
1. Forward this email to your lists and post to social media, urging folks to do the same and take action.
2. Email members of the Nevada Assembly Education Committee: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
3. CALL: Tyrone Thompson – Chairman, Assembly Education Committee: Office: 775-684-8569
MESSAGE: Use your own words, with the following theme: “Please give Assembly Bill 99 a hearing before the April 12th deadline. This bill is needed and passed unanimously in South Carolina. Why are Democrats preventing our children from learning our U.S. Constitution?”
Use your own words. Several legislators use filters that identify identical “canned” emails and delete them. Even one or two simple sentences can be powerful.

SUPPORTING ARGUMENT: The entire foundation of our Constitution continues to be distorted and diluted. Americans can only defend their individual rights if they understand them. They can only be involved in their government and ensure it remains in the limited box it came in, if they understand where the Constitution comes from.
The attorney for a committee in the Assembly, when asked about the constitutionality of the National Popular Vote bill, essentially said, all bills passed by a legislature are assumed constitutional until a court rules otherwise. This flies directly in the face of the original intent of our Constitution and immorally absolves legislators of the responsibility to honor the oath of office they took to defend the U.S. Constitution and Nevada Constitution.
The text of this bill is nearly identical to the South Carolina Founding Principles Act [https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess121_2015-2016/bills/3848.htm], which passed two committees and both houses of the South Carolina Legislature unanimously, Democrats and Republicans coming together to pass it.
Thank You. Please be sure you forward this email and share it on social media!
